HARISHCHANDRACHI FACTORY runup for OSCARS ...

NIFF ended the dust settled and a big news in Sunday newspapers is that HARISHCHANDRACHI FACTORY a film directed by young and dynamic filmmaker Paresh Mokashi has been selected for the regional films category. Now thats what we call a true good luck for Mr. Mokashi has been the NIFF where we had screened the movie for our audiences to get the glimpses on how Dadasaheb Phalke made the first film and the problems he faced while making it.

The film has been a great success in the private screenings and has been scheduled to be released for theatres at the end of this year. While we all wait for this superb movie, Mr. Mokashi is basking in his full glory by achieving what every filmmkaer dreams of. He has once again brought the small town of Nashik to the forefront from where Dadasaheb Phalke hailed and started the Indian entertainment story and rest is history as we all know, BOLLYWOOD, TOLLYWOOD, MOLLYWOOD etc all springing up.

We hope Harishchandrachi Factory delivers what every JURY member at OSCAR is looking for and this would surely be an exciting moment to have Mr. Mokashi hold that gleaming black trophy in his hand before the worldwide audience and get thunderous applauses which would be a true tribute to legendary filmaker and father of Indian cinema Dadasaheb Phalke.

We at Nashik International Film Festival (NIFF) would like to wish entire team of HARISHCHANDRACHI FACTORY a big LUCK and great successful future. While we sit with our fingers crossed and prayers in heart to have the Oscar land up in his lap.

Cheers,

NIFF Team
